UPDATE November 5, 2008: Campfire Circle Burns Past Fund Raising Goal!
Your generous support for the Emerald Bay Alumni Campfire Circle has been truly astounding. We are pleased to announce that your contributions and pledges now total over $80,400! There have been over 150 donors to this campaign so far —by far our largest participation ever. But we're still not finished! We are expecting to begin construction in early December--less than a month away--and we're finalizing the last details right now.
UPDATE November 6: More Great News!
Due to the tremendous outpouring of generosity, the Board has decided to "upgrade" the CFC design and look into building the project out of block-and-stone. Not only will this revised plan be more ecologically sound, but it will also enable us to build a more beautiful and permanent circle--a new circle that is more befitting of our environment and which will complement the many new buildings in camp.
If you have not donated yet to this cause, now is your opportunity to join in and help us reach our new goal of $90,000. There will be 10 new opportunities to purchase plaques in this newly upgraded campfire circle.
Thank you again for your continued support. You are the reason we are successful.
In fellowship,
Rich Wise, CFC Fundraising Chairman & Andrew Wilder,

Although the current staff continues the tradition of great campfires, the campfire circle is in desperate need of repair. The benches wobble, the fire rings are crumbling, and, most importantly, there is not nearly enough seating. The new Emerald Bay Alumni Campfire Circle will be constructed in the same general area as the old one, but will be turned to face the bay. It will be significantly larger, able to accommodate 1,000 campers and staff. The rebuilding effort is expected to cost at least Together, we can make the new Emerald Bay Alumni Campfire Circle a reality and enrich the lives of many generations to come! |
